When You Want to Quit—But God Says KEEP GOING

Let’s be honest there are days when entrepreneurship feels heavy. Days when the sales are slow, the ideas aren’t flowing, and the weight of life on top of business makes you think, “Maybe this just isn’t for me.” I’ve had those days. More than once. I’ve sat at my desk ready to shut it all down. I’ve whispered to God, “Lord, I don’t think I can keep doing this.” And every single time, He responds in His own way: “Don’t quit. KEEP GOING.”

The Temptation to Quit

When you’re building something God has called you to, the enemy will do everything he can to discourage you. He’ll whisper lies like:

  • “You’re not good enough.”
  • “Nobody cares about what you’re doing.”
  • “You’ll never make it.”

And let’s be real sometimes those lies feel louder than God’s truth.

But here’s the thing: just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s not God.

What the Word Reminds Me

Whenever I feel like quitting, I go back to scripture:

  • Galatians 6:9 — “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
  • Philippians 1:6 — “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
  • Isaiah 41:10 — “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”

These verses remind me that what God starts, He will finish. My job is obedience. His job is outcome.

Why You Can’t Quit Now

Think about this: what if the very breakthrough you’ve been praying for is right on the other side of your “I quit”? You don’t plant a seed and expect fruit the next day. Growth takes time. And so does your calling.

Sis, someone is waiting on what God has placed inside of you. Someone needs your product, your words, your story, your business. If you quit, they miss the blessing God wanted to bring through you.

How I Push Through

Here’s how I’ve learned to keep going when quitting feels easier:

  • Pray before you walk away — God’s voice brings clarity.
  • Rest, don’t quit — sometimes you just need to pause and breathe.
  • Remember your why — go back to the moment God called you to this.
  • Speak life — declare His promises out loud over your business.

Final Word

Quitting may feel like relief in the moment, but it will never bring you peace. Peace comes from obedience.

If God said go, then keep going. Even if it’s slow. Even if it’s hard. Even if nobody sees you right now.

Because at the right time, the harvest will come.
